YOUR DOG'S WELLNESS DESERVES MORE THAN A QUICK WASH
You know that feeling when someone actually listens? That's what we’re about.
Hi there! I’m Renee.
I didn't start out thinking I would join a grooming revolution. I started out frustrated.
Years ago, I was watching dogs flow through traditional salons like widgets: Bath, dry, cut, next. Everything designed around the schedule, not around what the dog actually needed. Quick handling, products chosen for cost not efficacy, and dogs left looking neat but not healthier.
So I went down a rabbit hole. Canine dermatology, skin science, ethical grooming standards, European luxury product lines. I learned that water temperature changes skin inflammation. That pressure during drying damages follicles. That conditioning isn't optional; it's foundational medicine. I received my aesthetician certificate. I'm currently enrolled in my canine nutrition diploma. I'm working toward my Master Groomer certification. Every credential, every course, every text I read serves one purpose: to understand how to actually care for your dog.
I discovered that grooming done right takes time. Not because salons are inefficient, but because you cannot shortcut genuine care. I built Wholesome Hounds intentionally small: one dog at a time, because that's the only way I can be fully present, not rushing between appointments, compromising on details, or leaving anything for "next time."
HOW I WORK
I'm a mother of two young boys. I understand what it means to care deeply about someone's wellbeing. To notice the small things and to never compromise on their safety. To invest time because it matters.
That's how I approach every dog that comes through here: with genuine care, presence, and the understanding that how you're treated matters.
During your first appointment, I ask real questions. What does your dog eat? What's their behavior like? What concerns you? These answers shape everything about how I'll care for your dog.
The process itself is detailed and thorough: temperature-controlled water, conditioning that actually soaks, careful brushing, gentle drying, products chosen specifically for your dog's coat, meticulous nail care. Nothing is rushed or skipped. The mission is simple: give your dog the care that it needs.
